With its Ecotrop platform, Eco&Sols is one of the 2 Montpellier research units allowed to import, analyse and store overseas soil samples that are submitted to quarantine regulations (L2 level). These stringent regulations mainly concern soil samples from tropical countries where we have a number of research partnerships.
The Ecotrop platform comprises a 200m2 confined soil sample library and a laboratory for soil and plant material analyses, both certified by the Region prefect and controlled by the French plant protection agency. The platform is also equipped with a 80m2 air-conditioned greenhouse (member of the RéSEM, Montpellier network of experimental greenhouses) allowing experiments on living plants.
The list of available equipment and routine analyses that can be carried out with the Ecotrop platform is available for download here
The platform can be used by all members of the Montpellier scientific community, according to these rules.
