Experience

My initial studies and my experience in soil ecology have helped me to improve knowledge of the phosphorus cycle in tropical ecosystems. I have also studied soil macrofauna and organic matter dynamics.

I am currently researching nitrogen and carbon cycles in soils as a function of microorganism diversity. My research focuses on gaseous emissions to determine the best possible trade-offs between maintaining agricultural productivity for farmers in developing countries (in relation to food security), mitigating greenhouse gases and minimising vulnerability in the face of climate change. This was the theme for my HDR (Accreditation to supervise research) at the University of Burgundy.

Co-organiser of Research Theme 3 (Carbon and Global Climate Change) at the Eco&Sols Joint Research Unit
